I am writing this from the library and even though I am suppossed to be working on an outline for a presentation, I could not help it but to write an entry. This weekend was pretty cool because not only was it Jeremiah's bday, but we had a chance to go to the movies TWICE. On Saturday, the day of his bday we saw The Departed, which was pretty amazing because the dialogue was witty and Jack Nicholson's acting was flawless and completly natural. On Sunday we saw The Prestigue which was equally as great because its a story about two magicians trying to outdo eachother. David Bowie has a small part in the film, but it is very impressive because his acting is also pretty natural and cool. Ahhh just thinking about how great these films are makes me happy. We also got to watch the actual trailer for Mel Gibson's upcoming film about the Mayans, Apocalypto and I am totally thrilled because it looks like a lot of time and detail was put into production. The movie is coming out December 8th (three days before my bday). The countdown begins!

So this weekend was a total flop and plans did not follow through like I wanted them to. I worked every possible second both at the mall and babysitting and I did not go to Jeremiah's show, nor did I watch the movies that I wanted to. Tomorrow does not look like a good day either because I have to go to traffic court for a stupid speeding ticket ( I was going 47 on a 35 mph speeding zone). This Saturday is his bday and I have the day off, yipee!!! Okay more soon...

I am totally addicted to Sudoku. The problem is that I am not good at it and I never really finish a puzzle. I swear I practice at least four times a week since I usually grab the university paper where I know they'll be one for sure. I need to find new strategies because it is my goal to at least move on from level one. I think there are books at the bookstore and even though I would not spend money on an actual book about this, I think I am going to have to read some tips next time I go to Borders.

Omg yesterday I saw two friends at school who I have not seen in a while and they were talking about how much they love the Killers. Puke. I can't believe people buy into that band. I guess people aren't picky when it comes to music at all because the Killers are total idiots. Their music is so basic and it sounds like all the bullcrap out there. Times like these make me think of great bands like Explosions in the Sky who produce music that is so beautiful it makes you cry when you see them live, which reminds me that I am going to go see them next month at the Be the Riot Festival in SF. I think Deerhoof is playing too and they are pretty cool too. They have this Asian woman as a bassist/singer and she has a similar voice to that of the woman from Blonde Redhead, which I happen to like.

In other music business I hear that PJ Harvey is working on a new Cd. I hope it’s as good as Uh Huh Her. Man I love that Cd. I remember I was totally obsessed with it when I first got it and would listen to it at least five times a day. That's what happens when you find a good Cd you like, you end up listening to that Cd alone and forget that you own others. Speaking of PJ Harvey I read that she turned 37 this week. Good for her.

I am working mad hours at the mall and babysitting this weekend, but I am going to try to squeeze a trip to see the Departed with Jeremiah. He LOVES Martin Scorsese and is thrilled about watching this film. Leo is pretty awesome and I've seen a couple of Scorsese films and I've loved them so far so I am also looking forward to watching it. Oh one last thing, Troupe Vitalis has a show this Saturday so it's definitely going to be a fun weekend!

What the hell happened to music? I can count with one hand (maybe even two fingers) the number of newly released cds that I've bought within the last two years. I think the best stuff to come out in a while has been Mars Volta (Amputechture) and Wolfmother (Self Titled). Even the new YYY's sucks. I remember two-three years ago I was such a YYY freak and now I am not compelled to listen to their new material because they're just not the same. I am totally sick of all this bullshit music-The Ohhlas, Panic at the Disco, and whatever else hip band everyone and their mothers is into. It's really sad because if I do buy a CD it's usually something like the Beatles. The Beatles never fail and neither does the Doors ("When the Music's Over"), Jimmy Hendrix, and Santana ("Soul Sacrifice"). Man do I really love that music. I am totally looking forward to Interpol and BlondeRedhead to release new material. I hope they hurry because God knows when the White Stripes will release a new album (since Jack is doing the whole Raconteurs thing and I am in desperate need of a lil' quick. (Sigh)
