I really want to go to sleep, but at the same time I want to stay up and do something productive. I love sleep and I wish I had more of it, but lately I've been feeling that sleeping is cutting back on the time that I can actually enjoy doing the things I want to do. At the same time, if I do not sleep then I will have poor health and die of fatige. As I type this I am listening to the Beatles, as always they put me in such a happy mood that I suddenly love everythng about my life even if it is imperfect. I think I have come to the conclusion that they are not human. Or maybe they are, but as a collective they become a super human that creates the most unique, creative, and smart music I have ever heard. Jimi Hendrix comes at a close second. Their voices are perfect in unison, almost as if they were meant to be one voice. The music, especially during the later years is packed with layers of creativity and amazement. Only super humans can come up with such song arrangements and overall concepts. What is amazing is that they put so much attention to every aspect of their songs even at the very last second. Have you heard "Helter Skelter"? The beggining is so powerful that even though I have heard the song a bizillion times it gives me a tiny chill that runs down my back. The voice, the power....Imagine a world without music. That would be a pretty scary place because there would be a huge whole in our lives.

I've had a LONG day today ladies and gents. I went to work from 6:30 am to 1:30pm, went home, showered and went back to my second job til 7:30pm. I had three hours of sleep the night before and even though I am exhausted and going to work again at 5:30am tomorrow I can't sleep!!!! I am totally psyched about my upcoming birthday BASH on December 8th. I've invited a lot of really cool people and I am looking forward to having everyone and their mothers there. I've seriously told about sixty people to be there so it should be pretty interesting...

and this is what I will be wearing...

...to complete the look I will be wearing a black long sleeved top with slightly puffy sleeves and awesome costume jewelry (borrowed from Steve). What should I do with my makeup and hair though? I thought about doing this...

Ideas would be most welcome.

Hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving. I went to Vallejo, CA with my family as tradition to celebrate with my mom's side of the family. I probably ate at least 5,000 calories worth of delicious food: string beans with mushroom cream sauce, mashed potatoes, ceasar salad, and the most amazing dish of yams, peaches, and cramberries. Are you salivating because I am.

Dinner is served...

The delish yam, peach, cramberries goodness.

Daughter and mother eagerly waiting to eat.

And because it takes me a zillion years to do anything, here are photos from this Halloween. (FINALLY!) I was a Zombie Bride. I must give myself props for pulling this outfit together out of pieces from my own closet. Fake blood included.

D as Marilyn Monroe. Andrea as the Statue of Liberty. It looks like somebody still has NYC in their head. I don't blame her. Drea is pretty crafty as well. She happened to have a dress the same color as the actual statue and she hooched it up a bit by pinning it and she completed the look by making a crown and a really sweet torch.

Jeremiah as himself. Really. The jacket and pants (better pic of his complete outfit further down this post) were purchased at the best place for vintage: The Wasteland. His scarves were bought at an antique shop and the hat looks familiar because its the sweet hat I am wearing in my main profile photo. I like to share.

With Fernando dressed up as Vicente Fernandez.

Andreas as JFK and D.

This past Halloween included two costumes. I wore the following to Moana's birthday party on 10/30. Yours truly as Ms. Betsey Johnson. Again, I used pieces that were in my closet, wig included.

Photo taken yesterday with my girls Andrea aka "Homie G" and Devina aka "Steve" and I at a bar. We did not stay for long because we headed out to a house party where I got trashed off Sapphire Gin (again). I really have to stop drinking that because I get sick everytime I drink it. I threw up a couple of times when I got home and this morning as well. Say no to Sapphire :)

Highlights:

Bike riding through Chinatown.

Don Hill's.

I fell in love with the cute lady freestyling. She was so awesome and so quick at what she was doing. She was wearing the cutest outfit and was just lovely all around. I posed for a photo with her after her performance, but sadly not with my camera. I must get it from my friend asap so I do not forget...Don Hill's was a pretty chill place. The bartenders were nice and the drinks were cheap. I had been wanting to go for a while especially since I've heard that Misshapes puts on a hella good performance, but sadly they did not spin that day. Maybe next time I'm in town.

Besides working a shit load, I had a fun weekend. The above photos are from my friend Jose's bday celebration at the gay bars on Castro. I love me some Hoe! I'm so glad I got to see him. I also hung out with my wifey Kristy at Original Joe's in SJ. Too bad I do not have any pictures of that. We had the most amazing food: a tomatoe, mozzarella, and olive appetizer, delicious bread with olive oil, and the most delicious pesto pasta I have ever tasted. It had sun dried tomatoes and more olives on the side. The wine was amazing as well. I love food.....yum! That place was pretty awesome because it is old school and older Italian people kick it there. I'm in love.

In celebration of my 60th post I would like to write about three things that make me happy.

The Beatles.

This band makes me happy. I have YET to listen to one of their songs and not like it. My current favorites (it changes all the time) are: "I Want You," "Helter Skelter," and "Happiness is a Warm Gun." For those of you who have watched the Beatles Anthology do you recall the moment when Yoko Ono was first introduced? Do you remember the song that was playing? Just thinking about it gives me the chills! "She's not a girl who misses much/Do do do do do do- oh yeah!/She's well acquainted with the touch of the velvet hand/Like a lizard on a window pane..." This song is SOOOO moving in EVERY POSSIBLE WAY. It messes with your head because it begins in such a gentle manner and it ends with such energy, you would have never guessed it was the same song from beginning to end. Really, I cannot explain it. Please dowload this song and listen to it. It will change your life, listen carefully.

My siblings.

Really I have the COOLEST brother and sister one could ask for. They are both so chill and talented people. Very creative in every single way.

Andrea is one of the most motivated people I know. She is a radio dj (Dj D-Dre, 90.5 KSJS) and she interviews bands on her show. She also works for Warner promoting new music and is working her way to become a television personality. In addition to that she has two other jobs one at KSJS and the other as a nanny for twins! She is incredibly smart, talented, and one of the most caring people you will ever meet. Just ask her friends.

Jose aka Lil P aka Peeps Libertine is the COOLEST kid you will meet. He is only fifteen years old, but is one of the most talented young musicians I have ever met. He plays the guitar every single day and he has the advantage of having two sisters who take him along to every rock show that they can get tickets for. This kid has seen Interpol at least five times and is very proud of it. While he is not being musical he is pursuing his dream of being a filmmaker. He has quite the number of shorts that he's made with his friends and our cousins. Oh yeah did I mention that he also likes to skateboard and was also an aspiring rapper once?

I hope that I can write on a regular basis from now on, even if I am busy because I love to collect all my ideas and happenings so I can remember in the future. Here's me at Hoover Tower at Stanford University. It was taken about a month ago on a little outing that Jeremiah and I took to admire the awesome architecture and have lunch out in the sun. We did not have to go far because I live fairly close. I love the cardigan I am wearing...

Here I am on top! You can kinda make out the campus on the background...

Okay so its totally obvious that I am doing my best to avoid studying for my math midterm tomorrow. I am totally distracted by my upcoming birthday bash that is in planning mode. This past weekend a friend gave me a quick lesson on dj-ing (is that how you spell it?) and I've been completely engrossed with possible song mixes. I'm hoping to make it to Amoeba soon so I can shop for records or maybe Streetlight or Rasputin if I make it down to SJ this week. Besides thinking about partying, I've been searching for inspiration for a possible photo shoot that I might style. I got a really cool magazine called Surface this past weekend and I've been going through that making notes and what not. I am also researching possible locations. I'm thinking EPIC, burst of colors, black and white, and VINTAGE of course.

Speaking of vintage I need new clothes. I have been poor for the past year and barely shop for clothing :( Yes, feel sorry for me please and remember that my birthdate is coming up on the 11th of next month. If I make it to Amoeba I'll probably make a stop at my favorite shopping locale: The Wasteland. I would love to get some dresses to make my life easier and a pair of boots perhaps for the new cold season ahead. I hate the winter weather. I will also be on the look-out for a purple party dress for my cousin Alejandra's quinceanera next February. I am hoping to find something cute from the 60's...maybe with some sparkle on it.

Oh btw there are two documetaries coming out that I would love to see: "Lou Reed's Berlin" by Julian Schnabel and another about Karl Lafergend (the title of the doc escapes my mind at the moment). I am also DYING to read Pattie Boyd's book: "Wonderful Tonight. George Harrison, Eric Clapton, and Me." How fucking amazing is this? I read a few chapters already while I was at the bookstore and I WANT IT!!!!!!!!! I also NEED a copy of Jim Morrison's poetry book. I saw it at the bookstore as well and read a few poems, which totally brought back memories....

I should really get back to studying. I LOVE school, but hate to study if I am not in the mood. I think that's true for everyone actually...Maybe I'll post again later since I am dying to find an excuse to do something else.

And because I love myself, here is a picture of me wearing my cute lil gold headband from H&M:

As you may recall from an earlier post, I was dying to go here...but it was closed when we got there :( Next time I'm in NYC I'm making it a point to go there in addition to taking another ferry ride because it was definetly a highlight of my entire trip. More later...
