R.I.P. Clifford Geertz. A couple of weeks ago I did a presentation for my Historiography class about the anthropologist Clifford Geertz and just last week my professor told me that he passed away. :( Geertz and his wife traveled to Indonesia and Morocco and studied the culture of those countries. I've read some of his work and I enjoy it a alot because he writes really well, almost story-like. One particular reading was about the Balinese Cockfights and how symbolic they are to the people of Bali. I totally recommend his work to those who are interested in behavioral studies.
