Iggy Pop is God. Now I know why they call him the Godfather of Punk. The Stooges show (I can't believe I was actually there) was phenomenal. I attended the April 21st show at the Warfield, which happened to be the day of his 60th birthday with my brother and Jeremiah. We got there after the first band had finished playing and we quickly made our way to our sweet spot. The band started playing a little before 9:30pm and as soon as Iggy stepped into the stage the crowd went wild and I began jumping up and down like a little girl.

These are some pictures I found from SFgate.com, I took some pictures with my cam phone, but we all know that they are not the most reliable things for shows:

The band totally rocked out and more can be said about Iggy. I really can't belive that he has the energy that he has at age 60, and he looks damn good too! He did his Iggy moves--jumped around on stage, beat the speakers with his mic, picked up the mic and repeatedly hit it on the stage, took the microphone wire and pretended to choke himself, danced, threw water from bottles onto himself (I counted 5 one time), and as you can probably see from the picture on top, he dove into the crowd at least three times (one of the times his roadie dove into the audience to retrieve him). Oh yeah, and he invited the crowd to go onstage and dance with him. Jeremiah attempted to go onstage, but a security person stopped him because there were way too many people on stage already. Bummer. The band also had two encores and they played "Happy Birthday" for Iggy and the crowd sang along, SO COOL! White and black balloons fell from the ceiling and Iggy had a good 60th birthday and we left the place in awe.

Tonight is the Blonde Redhead show at Bimbo's, but we are not going to be able to make it. I have a lot of things to do and I would rather save my energy for tomorrow when Troupe Vitalis plays at Bottom Of The Hill.
